1. HISTORY
Central Park is an urban forest park, with quiet ponds and winding paths around a par 3 golf course and the outdoor swangard stadium. The park was founded in 1891, and was effectionally named for the wife of Vancouvers second Mayor, Christine Oppenheimer, who was born in New York City. It is the perfect place to visit for free.
2. OUR VISIT
I have great memories of watching the Vancouver White Caps play soccor at Swanguard, watched kids race track there, and enjoyed the exersize equipment on the trail with our kids. Recently we took our Ebikes into the park and loved the shaded inside trails through the mature Douglas Fir trees, as well as the brand new rubberized perimeter trail.
3. ACTIVITIES
Walking- get into the park for a quiet walk on your own, your partner, or join a walking club like the Vancouver Venturers Walking Club
3 PAR Pitch n Put Golf Course- this is the cheapest place to golf in Vancouver!
Outdoor Swimming Pool with a focus on adult lane swimming.

4 main lots- Boundary Rd, Swangard Lot, Imperial Pitch n Put lot, Patterson Lot and 5 secondary smaller lots.
There are charging stalls throughout the lots.

There is a summer concession by the Pitch n Put in the park, and there are restaurants across the street from the park on Kingsway.
